Chapter Six – I’m So Damn Confused

-Markus-

Well, since English Literature was my last class of the day, I was out and getting ready to walk home.
As I was walking through the hallway to go to the exit, I saw Merliana randomly and quickly sprint out of the library and she didn’t even have her book with her.
I tried to ask her if everything was all right, but she couldn’t hear me because of everyone else heading for the doors.
Merliana went to some other exit and with that, she was gone… out of sight.
I could only stare in that direction for awhile, wondering what the hell was going on with that girl. I would’ve liked to help her, but by the way our conversation in the library turned out to be, it was just damn best to leave her the hell alone.
After awhile I looked straight ahead, since I was heading for the doors and once I was out, I just started to continue to walk, since I don’t live that far from the school, I walk to there and from there.
I was just looking down at the ground, still bothered by Merliana… she seemed like she had a lot in her mind and just wondered what it was that she was thinking and could I do anything to help her.
Well, all of that damn thinking and wondering got me somewhere all right.
My house was a few feet away from the school and across the street, as I was just starting to cross, I heard what sounded like a car speeding like hell but that didn’t take my eyes from looking ahead and no longer at the ground to look at the car.
The next thing that happened threw me off the damn wall–more like the road to be more damn precise–someone came out from the middle of nowhere and knocked me backward, saving me from the car.
I landed on my butt on the pavement–which hurt a little bit–and I finally snapped my damn mind back into the hell of reality, watching the car speed by and then I looked back to see that Merliana, who’s head was first on the pavement.
I instantly jumped up to my feet; I knew I couldn’t leave her there.
I picked up my pack-back–since that flew off when she crashed into me and since I didn’t have that on me, I was holding onto it–put it on, went to her, picked her up and she wasn’t that heavy but also not that light either, she was in the middle but slightly more on the light side, saw that her forehead was bruised, bashed up, and was even slightly bleeding too, but luckily none of her blood managed to go on the pavement.
This time, I looked left and right to see if other speeding cars were coming back, and there was no one there.
I walked across the street, grabbed my keys out of my pocket, unlocked the door, put my keys back in my pocket, opened the door, walked in, closed the door with my foot, went into the living room, gently placed Merliana on the couch, took off my backpack and placed that at the end of the couch on the floor, after that, I went to the kitchen to get some paper towels and then I grabbed the ice-cube tray, got some ice-cubes, placed them in a paper towel, then I took the roll of paper-towels, placed it under my arm as I grabbed a bowl and went to the sink to turn the water on and put the water in the bowl, turned the water off, and that’s when I went back to the living room where Merliana was.
She was still passed out on the couch; I went down on my knees, placed the roll of paper towels and the bowl down on the floor, and that’s when I started to clean up Merliana’s bashed up forehead.
After that, I placed the paper towel that had the ice-cubes on her forehead.
I sat there for a couple of moments, staring at her, and then feeling completely awkward I got up, took the bowl, roll of paper towels, and paper towels that had some of her blood on it dumped the water out, put the bowl in the dish washer, placed the roll of paper towels next to the sink, threw away the used paper towels, and went to the stairs, put my hands in my pocket, and waited for my parents to come and after awhile, they did.
My mother walked in first with some groceries and her handbag. “Soo, Markus, how was the first day of school?” she asked, as she walked past the living room and went into the kitchen, not even noticing Merliana right there.
I shrugged. “It was all right, I guess, met a foreign girl who was visiting and she took my iPhone,” I paused, as she turned around to look at me, she was in mid-putting away groceries with the refrigerator opened. “don’t worry mom, I got it back though.” I said, as I pulled my phone out of my pocket to give her proof. “See?”
“That’s nice and I’m glad you got your phone back.” She said, and when she did, my father came in with a few groceries and his suitcase.
“Did anything else happen today?” he asked.
“Yeah…” I said, as my father also walked into the kitchen and didn’t notice Merliana as well. “When I was walking to school, I was thinking because I had a lot on my mind, and the next thing I know is that the foreign girl who I said before, her name is Merliana, had saved me from almost getting bashed to damn bits.” I said, my parents didn’t mind when I say hell or damn, it’s the other words that drive them insane. “But she got herself injured, and I brought her over here.”
“Where is she?” they both asked, not to give a damn care in the world that a stranger is in our house.
“She’s lying on the couch in the living room, I cleaned her bruise and now she has some ice on it.” I said, as I pulled my right hand out of my pocket and pointed to her in the living room.
Both of my parents were looking at me and then they looked towards the living room and with that, we all went into the living room and waited for her to wake up.
I didn’t know how long it would take Merliana to wake up, but all I know is that I’m so damn confused why the hell she saved me when she sounded like she hated me and what the hell is going through her mind right now and even when she wakes up.

Very good. It was a bit hard to understand whenever he changed words, and there were quite a few run on sentences.
